I am drawn to creating pictures where light and shade interact in a way which heightens the sense of drama, and makes the composition more atmospheric.

Capturing the reality of the scene itself is not as important to me as realising my minds-eye view, which I recreate using specific emulsions, filters and other photographic techniques to give a timeless feel to each piece.

While I’m not opposed to digital photography, my preferred tools are analogue film and vintage cameras. I find the slower process stimulates my creativity and engages my focus on the composition in a way that digital capture does not.
